One trade show investment beats the cost of repeated sales calls. Do the math!
Estimate that an average cost per in-person sales call is $275*, and it takes a minimum of four sales calls to close the sale—you're investing $1,100 per prospect.
Using a trade show cost-per-lead calculation...
- Estimated total World Workplace investment (10x10) = $9,000**
- Divided by approximate number of leads = 120***
- Equals cost per lead = $75
$75 per lead vs. $1,100 = You can realize a 93% savings in reaching your target market as a World Workplace exhibitor!
* Average face-to-face sales call cost based on research conducted by McGraw Hill/Exhibit Surveys. The cost per sales call varies by company and represents sending a salesperson on the road to visit a customer in person. Exhibit Surveys research also indicates that less than one call is needed to close a qualified trade show lead, compared to an average four calls to close a typical business sale.
** The rule of thumb for expo budgeting: estimate 3-5 times the cost of your booth space to determine your total show budget. For example: US$3,000 x 3 = US$9,000.
*** Estimated attendance for IFMA's World Workplace 2010 = 4,000. Of those attendees, 60% approve purchases for their organizations = 2,400. Assume that at least 25% of the 2,400 decision makers are prospects = 600. Attract 20% of those prospects, and you have the ability to connect with 120 qualified, interested buyers over a two-day period.
