My World Workplace Experience Pre-Conference Trip Planner

Register Early.
Full Event and One-Day attendees who register for World Workplace before July 17 save $100 off the registration fee. Plus—registering early ensures that you receive your materials prior to arriving in Orlando, which saves you time at on-site registration.

Make Your Travel Arrangements.
Several major airlines are offering discounted fares for World Workplace travelers!
* Make sure you arrive in time for the opening keynote: Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 10:00 a.m.

* Arriving early? Staying over? If you’re planning a pre- or post-conference vacation in Florida with family or friends, be sure to plan around the event dates: Wednesday, Oct. 7 through Friday, Oct. 9.

Book Your Hotel Early.
Save even more by booking your hotel within the World Workplace housing block to qualify for special rates! Hotel reservations must be made and processed by Carlson Wagonlit, the official housing bureau for IFMA’s World Workplace 2009. Please note, based on availability, these discounted group guest room rates are available the weekends before and after the conference.

Traveling With Guests?
If your spouse, children, other family or friends will be traveling with you or meeting up with you prior to or
after the event, then you’ll want to consider:
Need a Rental Car?
IFMA has negotiated discounted fares with rental car companies for World Workplace travelers.
Print New Business Cards.
Have you run out? Close to running out? Change jobs recently? Make sure you have business cards on hand. The networking at World Workplace is second to none.
Visit www.worldworkplace.org for Frequent Updates.
Read attendee and subject matter expert blogs, review the program at a glance and plan your educational agenda. The Web site is updated throughout the year with news items, need-to-know information, videos, pictures and more. It’s the best place to begin your World Workplace Experience!
Sign up to moderate one or more sessions you plan to attend.
A great way to meet fellow attendees, a simple way to volunteer and ensures you a guaranteed seat for popular sessions!
Make a list of product and service solutions you wish to explore at the expo.
Meet with your employer, colleagues and members of your facility team to determine which facility challenges and current trends you want to address to prepare for your discussions with exhibiting companies.
 Break in shoes.
Comfortable shoes are recommended for World Workplace. Shiny new shoes are not recommended.
Resource planning for those covering for you at the office.
Make sure all bases are covered before heading out the door so that you can fully enjoy your World Workplace experience without taking valuable time away from the conference putting out fires at home.
Start a “World Workplace-Designated” Spare Change Jar.
Want a snow globe? Extra pocket or purse change can be turned into spending money for souvenirs!
Hit The Mall: Get Ready for Awards Night.
Black-tie is the preferred attire for IFMA’s Awards of Excellence Banquet, Friday night, Oct. 9. Shop the evening gown sales early or dust off the old tux.
 Pets & Plants
Secure dates for your pet- and/or plant-sitter early to make sure there are no scheduling conflicts.
